Turn a class timetable in Google Sheets into Google Calendar events

Schools, tutors and training teams plan timetables in spreadsheets. Calendrow puts every session in Google Calendar with the room and teacher, and keeps it right when the timetable changes.

Who it's for: School office staff, tutoring centers, coaches and corporate trainers who keep a timetable in a sheet.

Make a copy in Google SheetsDownload the template (CSV)

After making a copy, check the time zone: File → Settings → Time zone. A copy keeps the template's zone (US Central), and Calendrow reads times in the sheet's zone. CSV: in Google Sheets choose File → Import → Upload, then "Replace spreadsheet". Dates use the YYYY-MM-DD format, which Sheets reads as real dates in any locale. Calendrow needs the date and time in one Start cell. The Google Sheets template already has a "Start (date + time)" column (=B2+C2); with the CSV, add that column yourself.

Set it up in 3 minutes

  1. Open your sheet (or the template) and choose Extensions → Calendrow → Open Calendrow.
  2. Match the columns:
    Calendrow fieldColumn
    TitleClass
    StartStart (date + time)
    DurationDuration (min)
    LocationRoom
    DescriptionTeacher
  3. Create a calendar for it (Calendrow suggests a name), click Preview, check the times, then Sync.

Every row gets a status: Created, Updated, Unchanged, Skipped or Error, with a plain-English reason. Sync again any time; changed rows update their events and nothing is duplicated.

Tips

  • Combine date and time: if your sheet has them in separate columns, add =B2+C2 and format it as Date time. Calendrow will reject a time with no date and tell you which row.
  • Use Duration when every period has a fixed length: map the minutes column instead of End.
  • One calendar per class group works well: a tab for each group, each synced to its own calendar that students can subscribe to.
  • Room change? Edit the cell and sync again. The event updates in place.

Questions

Can I make weekly repeating classes?

Not yet. Today each row is one event, so list each session (a sequence formula or copying the block for each week works). Recurring events are planned for Calendrow Pro.

Will students get email invitations?

No. Calendrow never sends invitations or emails. Share the calendar instead, which is quieter and lets people subscribe.

Does it work with a school Google account?

Yes, if your school's Google Workspace admin allows Marketplace add-ons. Some schools block them; ask your admin if Calendrow doesn't appear.

The free plan creates up to 100 new events a month and writes to calendars Calendrow creates for you, which you can share like any other calendar. Syncing into your existing calendars is coming in Calendrow Pro.
